I used to have the patience to write down these moments….but now I’m unmotivated and distracted. I wonder if it’s my age or the age we are in lol.
I recorded some whatsapp voice messages to Cyndi and I feel like it was the easier way to sum up my ECF experiences with stories and how I felt.
But let me sum it up briefly here:
ECF Live Mastermind in Austin Texas
- so much fun! Laughed so hard. Especially like Ross (moneybag guy) and Lianna (great sex robot impression hahah). So really like Garrett (very nice guy, worked at google, scaled to $10M in 4 years) and Michelline (who drove us). Danny is nice but his product is just so lame. Luke (bald guy) stayed at the same hotel as us but I didn’t really get to know him. Mark (pretty good looking but kinda older kiwi who sells camping gear) – got to chat with him more this time. Shane is very smart (fat guy).
- Did I learn much? Learned about amazon backend keywords being phrases separated by semi colon, and decided to a/b test Amazon inserts with the goal of acquiring emails. I don’t know if these are huge…but it’s something. Mostly the laughter.
- OH! Toured Sunil’s factory, which was AMAZING! Ok yes that’s very fruitful. The orders/hour math was great.
Stories:
- Lost my phone on uber ride to Hampton Inn. Thank GOD that the concierge Javier helped me out. Got the phone back. Paid $60, but later on I reported to Uber and Uber refunded me $40.
- Had a meet-cute moment with Tony, guy on the flight back. He was quite cute and thought I was amazing. But, I think he was in his late twenties, and I intimidated him with my accomplishments. He didn’t get my contacts in the end. He was part Portuguese, Fijian, Samoan, and German. Sigh. I so wanted to make out with him!
- Ross had a story of his Uber driver picking up an old guy, who wanted to go to Chick fillet, and was gonna pay for her. She said ok, but as they got there, he realized he didn’t have his wallet. So she dropped him off at his place. He got his wallet, and still wanted to go to chick fillet. She did that, dropped him off after. Picked up another passenger, and the passenger found the old man’s phone on his seat. She drove back to the old man to return it to him. Then, pick up the next passenger, who found the old man’s wallet. LOLOLOLOL
- Javier lost his phone on the roof of his car during his first week in America. He had to wait a year before he can get his next phone, when his mom came to visit him from Columbia.
- Javier’s family (15 or so ppl) all count on him having their IDs and insurance papers etc.
- Javier and his friend are also Amazon drivers. One time his friend’s car was stolen. He suggested tracking it down through the app. They found the car parked 5 minutes away. They had to hopped the fence to get to it. The doors were all unlocked. Turned out the car thief just wanted to steal the Amazon packages!
iFly:
- I love it! I flew 4 minutes on day 1, had the event on day 2, then on day 3, went back for 10 more minutes. I bought 10 more minutes. I think this is gonna be my sport! I wish we had one in Vancouver.
- I learned to balance, move forward, backward, and turn!
New House; Mortgage:
- I’ve been talking to TD, True North, Vancity, CIBC, and ScotiaBank. Hopefully will get a great rate!
- I don’t like having to spend money on this. I want to invest it to get more money in stocks. But, that’s what money is for! Mom wants the house. I get to buy it for her.
Michael from AdSumo email marketing:
- I had a great chat with him! He sometimes answered my questions in an awkward way…like, not really having a point, and had some tangents. It reminded me of how I talk sometimes. For example he randomly mentioned that he worked at a chimney company when he was 19, and he became the VP because the owner got sick. (Everything about that was so unusual lol.) When he said he was moving to Tampa, I said, my friend lives there and we’re gonna go to Racoon Island in Miami! I’m even more awkward, yes.
- But he has some good ideas, so I think he is smart. He said our type of product doesn’t thrive on LTV, so we gotta get them at the welcome pop-up. 100% correct and very insightful.
- He also said that for the welcome pop-up, we ask a question, and then we can give them different welcome flows depending on their answers. Love it!
- He said he wants to build a boutique agency, and have fewer clients, but do more (e.g. content as well) for each client. I like that. I can see us working together like that. He is younger and potentially way better at creating good content.
- He sited RXBar, Ridge…I got excited talking to him about these
- He showed me the Traffic x AOV x LTV slide, and I got so excite. I said yes yes that’s what I preach all the time! I said, except in my version I added Conversion Rate. He thought that was a good idea and added it to his formula.
- He recommended a book he is reading, and sited some brands (Pouble is one). He gets me. I really like him!
- Also, he is super cute! Omg. He reminds me of a 20yo Christian Slater, but way cuter. He has more of a heart shaped face, like Leonardo Decaprio, which is not my favourite. (But when Leo was young, he was also adorable and perfect.) My favourite is John’s face shape, or Paulie’s face shape (or his entire face lol). BUT, him being young, cute smile, perfect skin, and interested in the same things in the biz world as me – I can talk to him all day and make out with him in between! He is an 8 out of 10. Even cuter than on youtube.
- I wonder if he was at all attracted to me. I didn’t wear foundation, but I did put on eye makeup and centered my hair line AHAHAHA
- It’s like talking to Austin! My favourite people to talk to are these driven 2o something yos. So young, so cute. But with Austin there was no sales layer, so it was more pure interest in each other that way.
- If they permed their hair and got the alpaca hair instead of military hair, they would be even more cute.
- If I was smoking hot maybe I can get both of them when I go to Tampa ahahahhaa. Or if I was 20 years younger lol.
- Maybe these 20 year olds are too busy building biz they don’t have time for a gf, so they’d be up for a fun time? Just once each lol.
- I really hope that the audit is great on Friday! And that his price would be good ($2500 good).
- I really didn’t like Max, the other email marketing guy. I don’t like his zitty and square face either. I hope his referral of Michael works out though!
Continuous Glucose Monitor:
- I finally put it on! It has a 1 cm needle which was scary to punch into my arm, but it actually didn’t hurt.
- I put it on 2 days ago.
- My blood glucose is relatively high considering I’ve been eating stakes, pork hock, kimchi, and saurekraut for the most part! Went up when I ate a jam cookie. Went super high today (10.6, which is out of the 3 to 10 range) when I ate some Mary’s organics cookies without peanut butter (protein). Crazy. Very insightful though!
Tomorrow I’m looking forward to a snowball fight with Dips, Nicole, and other friends!
John called today and we talked for a while as I walked my daily 8~10k. He wants to be $100M rich. I’d like that too.
I causally asked Brian if he knew how certain memes were made. He got all defensive saying he doesn’t use social media, it’s below him, and “what do you want from me”. Holy shit. I was reminded of how abrasive he can be. Thankfully I had no crush on him anymore. I just calmly asked him if everything was ok. We carried on and he told me about these young dropshippers making $200M/month selling stuff by piecing together trending TT videos promoting a certain product. Fuuuck. So “greasy” yet, such a great way to make bank.
I want to make lots of money. $10M biz revenue this year. And I want to do it in a way that I can feel proud of.
Adam, a guy from ECF wants to exchange notes on organic content, influencer marketing, UGC. What can I share?
- Brian’s story about the dropshippers
- My plan to seed influencers + add them as our affiliate.
After site launch:Tactic 1:
Influencer Seeding:
Stage 1: find influencers who fit this criteria:
– dm or email 100 a week and see how many we get back. Goal is to get 200 influencers’ content a month ($2500 investment) AND saturate a niche or more than one. Might need multiple accounts to do this so as to not get blocked. Will send out messages from the @knotheoryring account first.
– we’ll also add this to our website and our affiliate app page
– nano or micro influencers
– high engagement or great quality content or just good looking rizzy ppl
– is our demo already interested in our rings (e.g. just engaged, already a silicone ring wearer, happily married, gym goer or has a job that requires it or is a young mom or has a disease finger swells up or knows someone with the experience of losing or almost losing their rings)
– bonus: wants to share us on their social. dm “ring” to get the code for X% off ring (also their affiliate link??)
– can grant us rights to using their story as ads
– target a specific influencer niche (e.g. Equestrian) to saturate that nicheAsk Kat:
1. how many dms can we send without getting blocked? can we / should we create a couple more IG accounts
2. TT and IG. Response rate?
3. what was our agreement with Rachel for using her content as ads?Stage 2: for influencers whose videos worked great as ads:
– pay $100 for each videoTactic 2:
In-house UGC:
1. Hire actors with rizz who are or look like our demo, who have the lifestyle (e.g. home decore) of our demo
2. Give scripts and get 20 videos per month (about $3K investment)
3. Chop them up to create modules to use to create tons more videos (Sean Frank style), so we can create 60 pieces of videos to use and to test. I like those “montages” of various good looking people giving reviews like Halara ads
4. Give these actors “role model content” (discover successful ads by nudging/encouraing our algo or by looking at similar products on FB ad library, successful TT influencers who are making great video content – mention those dropshippers) to help them succeed, so they know the vibe to create and imitate.
5. We have some pretty good ones from Billo, but only 3. Billo seems better than Collabstr. (Better than Stack Influence because they weren’t paid)Tactic 3:
Give these content (UGC and influencer videos) to our affiliates (who are not in these videos), so they can use these videos (and create ads with them on their money). We might need to add a clause saying they can’t butcher our content.
